Nuffnang Gliterrati Club and…question
I received and email in the afternoon from Nuffnang. It is about their about-to-launch Gliterrati Cub. This is said to be a exclusive club for Nuffnangers who have no others ads from other South East Asia Oriented ads networks, except Nuffnang’s. Well, I am not going to explain more on this club, you can just go over to HERE or HERE to read the details. (Don’t worry, you will not be re-direceted to some parking sites!)
Upon receiving this, immediately a question came into my mind. It is very common that bloggers nowadays have more than 1 blog, some even have more than 10. Let’s say I have 5 active blogs registered with Nuffnang under same publisher account. Then, all the 5 blogs must be clean from other South East Asia Oriented ads networks, except Nuffnang’s? If I keep 4 with Nuffnang and 1 with, say GrabMyAds or Nufflets or Advertlets, then I will be kicked out from the club and become a Non-exclusive member. Am I right? Actually I have replied Nuffnang’s email with my question to Ming, but haven’t got any reply yet. Anyone can answer my question?
Something I found funny from that email:
Dear Nuffnangers,
Today Nuffnang has successfully established itself as the blog advertising market leader in both Malaysia and Singapore. As such we have also faced increasing pressure from many of our loyal exclusive Nuffnangers to enact an exclusive program, rewarding them for their loyalty.
We have always kept it as no secret that we often give priority to our exclusive Nuffnangers in everything from community events to even the serving of ads.
However with the establishment of the Nuffnang Gliteratti, we have now crystallized these benefits as part of our community policy.
Please note that the Nuffnang Gliterati will take effect automatically from the 13th of January 2008.

You guys notice anything? The name of the club was actually mentioned 3 times in this email, but all with DIFFERENT SPELLING. I wonder if they guys are sure which name that they are going to use? As for my title of this post, I follow what I saw from their official site.
These are interesting as well:

My guess is that just don’t register that particular blog which you want to serve other ads with Nuffnang and you should be still in the club.
I am more interested if this setting up of the club going to break any competition act both in Malaysian and Singapore.
Hi motd,
How about if I want both Nuffnang’s and other networks ads to be in that particular blog?
Sun, read my blog for your qiestion answered. I link it to the nuffnang website errrr…..I mean Gliteratti.
It is just an attempt to block others.
@Sun
You will still get ads from Nuffnang. Just fewer ads since you are not in the “club” and the earnings will be lesser. More benefits for those who serve only Nuffnang ads.
@Jialat
Did Nuffnang reply yet? Guess many of us are still waiting for the confirmation.
@Nufflets
Bloggers are forced to chose sides now. Not alot are keen to dump other ads network and just go for Nuffnangs. Always better to put the eggs in different basket.
Of course no one would dump the rest of the world for Nuffnang. The key point would not be bloggers joining glitterati. It would be Nuffnang shaving off some responsibility with regards to benefits and payouts stipulated in the TOS when you signed up with them.
They now had successfully rewrote the TOS that was agreed with you when you first signed up for them with GLITTERATI. The glitterati club won’t expand. But Nuffnangers would have to accept lousier treatment as their business model shift gear to increase their earnings(via cash flow) and this is call sincerity?
I am taking Nuffnang ads off my blog instead.
motd,
Actually, Sun is jialat… I have chosen my side… OK, neevr did I get any reply and I think I will never get any. To them, I am just a very very tiny publisher, not any big time blogger, like lilian
Harry,
I think, no need to take off bah. i will keep it for a while, and see what happens.
