Calling For Linux Gamers
Jun 8, 2008 IT
The guys at Linux.com is planning for a Linux game tournament. But before that, they need Linux gamers for feedbacks, suggestions. If you are a Linux gamer, maybe you would like to lend them your helping hand?
We’ve written about games for Linux many times over the years. Now we want to do something different. We hope to sponsor a Linux game tournament, but we need your input before we start nailing down the details. Rather than make an ill-informed, arbitrary decision on what game to use in the tournament, we want to get your opinions.
We think the ideal game for this tournament would be one that:
* Easily lends itself to multiple rounds of tournament-bracket play
* Allows rounds to be completed in a half hour or less
* Provides the ability to limit play to Linux platforms only; even if there’s a version for another operating system, we don’t want people using it for this tournament
* Most importantly, is a fun, kick-ass game to play!If you’re a Linux gamer who can help us with advice, please add a comment below. In addition to selecting the game, we would also appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on other aspects of the tournament: registration, scheduling, scoring, moderation, and so forth. You might also suggest where and when we hold the event. We want this to be the best Linux game tournament possible, and we can’t accomplish that without your help.

Ping.sg Awards & Party? Should be very fun since there are many funny guys around in Ping.sg
By the way, regarding all the sh|ts of Uzyn banning commercial blogs from updating in Ping.sg, just move on lah. Uzyn is founder and owner of ping.sg. He has every right to decide who and what to ban. If unfortunately you are the one, just LL suck thumb walk away. No point making a fuss here like a kid.

Singaporeans Choosy Over Jobs? You Are Not Alone…
Jun 7, 2008 Life, Singapore, Work
We often heard that many Singaporeans remain jobless because they are choosy. They are not willing to take up jobs with lower pay, or workplace that are faraway from home, or without nice titles. Or their salary demand just freak out potential employers. But it seems like they are not alone now:
KUANTAN: There are 8,418 unemployed youths in Pahang and one of the reasons for this is because they are too choosy.
State Youth and Sports Committee chairman Datuk Wan Adnan Wan Mamat said the other reasons were that youths were unwilling to work away from their hometowns and having to compete in a highly aggressive labour market.
Familiar?
I myself have gone through a long period of time without job. I can understand how it feel being jobless, and the reasons rejecting job offers. It can be very complicated. But whatever it is, be practical and realistic. Remember that when we are choosing the companies, we are being chosen as well.
