Singapore NDP 04 MTV Is Rip-Off From Qantas Ad As Well? (STOMPer Self-Pwned)
This is an interesting one from STOMP. An anonymous STOMPer emailed STOMP, saying that Qantas video ad looks similar to Singapore NDP 04 MTV. This is the details:
A STOMPer finds the similarities between a Qantas video advertisement and the Singapore My Home campaign.
He said in his email:
“I refer to your recent article regarding a government agency ripping off ads from a Japanese ad.
“Rip offs are not uncommon.
“An interesting comparison between the the Quantas campaign and the Singapore My Home campaign.
“Strangely similar isn’t it?”
The STOMPer even provided screenshots for comparisons:
The statements and proof look solid, and it seems quite true that “Rip-off are not uncommon”. From the STOMPer’s words, I can’t help thinking that it is friends, or colleagues, of family members of Gloria (you know which Gloria) out there to help Gloria. However, immediately people commented that the Qantas ad was produced way earlier than NDP 04 MTV. So, it turns out that, looks like it is the producer of NDP 04 MTV “localizing” the ideas. Look at these:
I am an Australian, and I’ve seen the Qantas ad on TV way back from in the late 90′s or early 2000, but definately before singapore NDP 04, coz’this the also the same year I moved to Singapore =)
tt aussie song ad been around since way before 2004. production qualities were exceptional for the qantas videos too. google it. then judge who ripped who off? seems like the bogus cretive directive directors in sg production companies had already been out of ideas for a looonng time
So yeah, it helps Gloria. At least it proved that Gloria is not the 1st one doing the LOCALIZING of ideas.

the Qantas Ad, the song use is very famous in Aussie (the not so), the producer or someone in the production team most probably studied in Aus and this stuck in their mind. Hearing it again brings back memories……. unfortunately cannot be said for any sg ads or songs…these days we only make fun of the all SG songs….
