Did Dawn Yang Learn From PM Lee? Is That An Honest Mistake?
Aug 3, 2008 Blogosphere, Funny News, Gossips, Singapore, Stupid Stuffs
I am referring to what Dawn had said in this reports:
Netizens accuse Dawn Yang of plagiarism
Netizens accuse her of plagiarism
Quoted:
“I apologise to all my readers. I didn’t do this intentionally,” she said.
She said that at the time she posted the entries, she didn’t really think citations were necessary.
“It didn’t cross my mind that I was doing something wrong,” she said.
Why it sounds so similar to the famous “This is an honest mistake. Let’s move on.” sentence to me?
Anyway, I feel that it is so lame to “didn’t cross my mind that I was doing something wrong”. If you read, you digest, you rephrase your words/sentences, you write your articles, people may think that you copy the idea, but it is still acceptable by many. But copying word by word? Sentence by sentence? That is so stupid, and kind of insulting the readers.

Oh really ? Is that what she been doing during her Raffle Junior College ? Plagiarism ? You means RJC never taught her that this is Plagiarism ? For goodness sake, this is a elite and number one JC and she thinks all long Plagiarism is okay. Can someone dig her work from RJC and check for Plagiarism ?

Honestly… if she were a nobody it’s not that bad. Cos just copying. it’s still wrong of course but the extent of its effects is minimal. LIke if it were me (lol but I always try to link people if I copy word for word la).
But she earns money through her blog. Which means it was free money man. She didn’t have to waste whatever little brainjuice she had on the writing. What crap is that?!
Some of the stuff she copied were even for advertorials. Stuff she was directly paid for. They should take back the money.
