“Copy-And-Paste” Camera Review Blog

I was actually looking for a second digital camera a while ago. I remember seeing a few camera reviews, tech reviews blogs in Ping.sg. So I searched around there hoping to get more information on the camera that I was looking for.

Then, I came across this particular blog, focusing on digital camera review and photography skills sharing. It looked good. The contents were rather useful. However, the more I read, the more I found the contents “familiar”. It sounded like I have read the same thing somewhere else. So I copied the whole paragraph and did a search in Google. Dah dah! It is actually the exact same paragraph from article in other sites. For example, the following paragraph on Olympus mju 770 SW:

Shockproof. Waterproof. Freezeproof. Crushproof. Introducing the world’s most durable digital camera — the Olympus Stylus 770 SW. You can drop it (from 5 feet), dunk it (to 33 feet), freeze it (-10 degrees C/14 degrees F) or even try to crush it (up to 220lbf), and it will still take amazing photos.

But the 770 SW isn’t all brawn and no brains. It features a bright 2.5-inch Hypercrystal LCD so you can easily compose, view and share your images underwater or in direct sunlight. Digital Image Stabilization (DIS) creates sharp, blur-free pictures, even if your subject is moving. And the 27 Shooting Modes, including movie with sound, allow you to master any shooting situation.

I can easily got it HERE, HERE and HERE.

What irritated me is actually the fact that there is nothing in the article telling the readers that it was actually “copy and paste” article and where the original is. For readers who don’t know, they may think that the author is so brilliant, can write such wonderful review.

Then I read other “sharing” in the same blog. Holy god, all are “copy and paste” from others. And, it is only a small little fine print at the end of the article telling people “XXXXX is a famous photographer who xxxxxx. For those who are interested in xxxxxxxx can visit www.xxxxxxxx.com”, things like that. This is just for example. It still, never tells readers that it is not an original article. It is actually misleading.

I found the owner got many many blogs on various different topics, and all are the same, using the same tactic. “Copy and paste”, small little fine print at the end.

Haiz…. I pity the readers. They thought they are reading original stuff……

The following are interesting as well:
