I received a mail from Blog2U.sg, regarding their latest campaign. It is to give out new BAK2u anti-theft software for iPhone. I was actually interested though I don’t own an iPhone. But…… the following sentence got me curious.

    Probably wrong choice of words. Maybe those who just purchased the iPhone 3G may sound better, otherwise it may create misunderstanding :)

    How to blog about protecting our iPhone with software that does not appear to exist, where do you download? Looking at video it does not look to protect iPhone at all. It is not in App store.This is seems unethical to me, to blog about a product that is not yet out, lie about using BAk2u software and then we get a free copy when it is released. Sorry not on my Blog, my readers expect me to have integrity. This is pretty sleazy in my opinion. No thanks.

    Don’t you think it is better to give out the software first to the bloggers who want to write a review?

    It seems rather cheap, since basically you are making people write a review for free, after they have purchased your software, then afterwards giving them a “free copy” of bak2u, even though they probably don’t need it now they have already bought it.

    No the bloggers need to reply to us first since there is a limited qty that we are giving it away as stated in the email.

    There is quite a lot different from what you are painting to what is stated in the email.

    Do read again before attacking. :)
