Advertlets, WHERE ARE MY CHEQUES???!!!
Edited on 13/11/2008: Money received on 12/11/2008, through TT, minus S$10 due to TT service. CASE CLOSED.
(Guys at Ping.sg, please PONG me to the top. I have a fxcking cash-out story with this lousy company to tell everyone.) Advertlets, Josh, where are my cheques??? Where is my cash-out? Where is your promise? That is March and May cash-out for God sake. It is a fxcking 6 months period.
First I never received anything for my March cash-out, so I wrote this “It’s Been 4 Months, Where Is My Advertlets Cheque?“. Then finally, there was response. It is a series of emails communication and we agreed on an arrangement. I am going to post all the emails between that lousy company and me. (Click to enlarge)
Hi XXXXX,
We previously sent an e-mail in April with a few questions regarding your site statistics. Did you receive it?
Regards,
Advertlets Support
No, I did not receive any email regarding your request. Maybe you want to send again.
Thanks.XXXXX
Please see the below:
This is the mail:
Hi XXXXX,
Firstly, let us say that we appreciate your posts, comments and support of Advertlets so far. We also note that you are one of the higher traffic bloggers in our network, and we value your contribution.
As payment from advertisers from Singapore take much significantly longer time to clear in Malaysia (due to need of physical invoicing and bank procedures), we would like to have your assistance in the following:
To have your March 2008 Cashout split into three payments, which will be sent to you over the period of 3 months. Future cashouts should not be an issue.
We apologize and appreciate your consideration. Apologies for the delay, but we feel this is the best decision in the interests as a growing startup and for our publishers to receive payment (although split) as soon as possible. In addition, we would like to explore the possibility of arranging a fixed monthly fee due to your high traffic.
We would appreciate your confidentiality in this matter to protect both our interests. Thank you. Please let us know if this is a suitable arrangement that you can agree to.
Regards,
Advertlets Support
After I saw this mail I just laughed. If you have really ever sent me such mail, you will FORWARD the one you have previously sent, but not COPY n PASTE into a new email. Anyway, I just want my money! Future cashouts should not be an issue? My foot, you can’t even pay me NOW!

Hi,
Seems like I can’t say No right?
Do let me know how you will split the among. But I will suggest that, since you will have to drag it into 3 parts, why don’t lum my 2nd cash-out together?
Seriously, I hope you guys can improve on your customers/publishers service, relationship management. I don;t expect top notch service, but the level that I received is not tolerable to me. As long as Advertlets pays good (no drag of course), I will stay.
As for the fixed monthly amount, we can talk about it.
Thanks.XXXXX
Hi XXXXX,
Okay, we will put your 2nd cash out together with the first:
RMxxxx = SGDxxx
SGD xxx divided by 3 = SGDxxx per cheque
You will receive your first cheque within 5 -10 days from today, and the next one at the end of July, and the final one in August from your March & May combined totals.
We will endeavor to improve further, please do keep us updated on your feedback.
Regards,
Advertlets Support
I received the 1st cheque sometime around mid July. Nothing else after that
OK
Hi,
I have not received the 2nd part of payment which has been agreed. It was said end of July and now is coming to mid Aug.
Thanks.XXXXX
7th August, I emailed again to ask about my cheque that was due end of July. Reply only came 4 days later.

Hi XXXXX,
Thanks for letting us know. You should receive both cheques within this month.
Regards,
Advertlets Support
I got this mail on 11th August. Within this month? My foot! Today is 23rd Sept and where is my cheque? I think it is not even issued yet. I have wanted to post early this month, but was thinking that maybe POS Malaysia is so freaking lousy that it takes them 2 weeks to deliver a mail to Singapore. And now what? This is coming to END OF SEPTEMBER! Where is my cheque?
To all readers of Jialat dotCom, all visitors who reach through search engine,s who are referred from other sites such as Ping.sg, forget about earning with this lousy company. If you just signed up, just drop it. Do a search in Google, you can see many people complaining on their payments. They just suck.
I WANT MY MONEY! Do not tell me what problems you have, how difficult it is to clear customers payment or to run a startup. I am not interested to know. I have given enough time, patience and chance and I am fxcking fed up right now. You have problems, solve them, don’t tell me.
I have made another cash-out end of Aug. I expect the cheque to reach me on time and I seriously appreciate it. No more business with Advertlets.
A tip for all blogger with Advertlets: if one fine day you find your blog loading freaking slow, try taking down Advertlets ads. More than a dozen times, that solves my problems.
These are interesting as well:

Bro,
It is so obvious that they are facing cash flow problems.
If it is so difficult to clear in Malaysia – why split payments into 3 times and you have to go through the same process 3 times???
Hope you get you $$ soon….
actually, i emailed them on 2 seperate matters, 3 weeks ago. They have a ticketing system which probably no one checks.
After 3 weeks, still no reply on my queries.
I think this isn’t the first time anyone had problems trying to cash out from Advertlets. It sounds as if they want to publishers earn something and inflate their memberships to entice more “victims” (I have no other words to describe) to sign up.
Then send out emails that they have cash flow problems, all sorts of other “excuses” (again, I have no other words to describe) to the people who are trying to cash out.
If this isn’t doing well, they better be transparent about it since they are on the internet for all to see and screen captures.
Thats why support nuffnang =).
well, i never support advertlets anyway.. partly cos of its ambassador that reloaded guy. he’s a shit person irl so it makes me biased.
It not only you having problem with Advertlets
They owe me $$$ too. Do you think we can go to CASE?
Until now, I didn’t receive any email from them.
DB,
I seriously don’t care about their cashflow problem, just want my money.
thanks.
shen,
email that josh directly, bomb his mailbox full. im thinking of leaving comment on their “alias” site, asking for money , or asking them to contact me, if there is still no response.
WishBone,
that guy just want to look good. know what? they are still sponsoring “money not enough 2″ movie tickets in Malaysia.
SupportNuffnang,
I havent cashout my earning from Nuffnang yet, so I comment on that. But I have seen many cases of asking money from Nuffnang as well. Still, I wont judge until I cashout myself.
sun,
I don’t visit that blog, no comment on that. I just want my money.
How to…
Yes I know, long ago.
furious,
CASE Singapore? i don’t think they can help.
After reading all these posts about Adertlets (and also NN), I think sticking with Google Adsense makes more sense.
Was seriously hoping that these regional ‘online adverts’ companies could make it big so that we bloggers can get relevant local ads, but I think it is not happening anytime soon.
dude, have you read my article on them?
http://www.goldfries.com/websites-blogging/nuffnang-vs-advertlets-part-3/
I was also like you, no payment damn long. My wait was 4 months but I didn’t have to go through that much like you. I just posted on their blog, they quickly responded.
Too bad for them already la, already written the 4-part mini-series highlighting their weakness.
Haha, yeah. Advertlet is just another scam. Me too, didnt receive my March earnings till today.
Most of my networks which uses advertlets did not receive their cashouts as well.
Just strike Advertlets off your list.
nuffnang same lah, google them and you find tons of blog talking about payment problem. Both this company CMI. Both wanna be somefink majiam like google or facebook nia. Wanna hao lian tua kang. Gin na running company you better dont let them handle you.
Aiyah they also owe me 4 months. After that, I just post on their blog and straight they attend to me with nonsense excuse.
Classic Josh Lim.
No offense, but Josh’s theatrics is a disgrace to internet community and the entrepreneurship world. I suggest he closes advertlets and go working for someone else.
Hi,
I have posted your post on my website NearDeals.com. It’s a thesis

Hi all,
Nuffnang payment policies are well laid and available for the public to consult, be it in the Exclusivity Page or the Bloggers FAQ as well.
As we have offices in Penang, KL, Singapore and Manila, should there be any payment queries, please do not hesitate to contact us be it in person, via phone or even writing to our helpdesk which we attend to every working day without fail.
Integrity for us at Nuffnang is very important as we always ensure that every single one of our bloggers get paid whenever they request for cash out. At times, our postal system is not perfect and if you do not receive your cheques by the stipulated time, by all means do contact us and we’ll address your concern right away.
We can ensure you that none of our bloggers go unpaid once their request is due. After all, Nuffnang is all about integrity to the bloggers and advertisers.
I just stay with Advertlets for about a month, and I heard a lot about “Advertlets Sucxk” then I took it down already. I’m happy staying with Nuffnang right now.
Hope you get the cheque from them soon!
The finance guys at Nuffnang work very hard to make sure everyone gets their cheques each month. I’ve even seen them reissue cheques because some of our Nuffnangers forget to change their address or some forget to put in their real name as in their IC hence the cheque sent wasn’t able to be banked in.
Sure of the hundreds of cheques that we send out every month, there are bound to be 1 or 2 that are lost in the mail but the Nuffnangers e-mail us and we always very quickly get HSBC to resend another cheque WITHOUT any further problems like this.
So I think they’re doing a fantastic job since after all I spend a lot of time watching online if there are any genuine complaints about bloggers not receiving their cheques when it is due but so far all I see is hearsay from non-existent or anonymous bloggers leaving us no chance to investigate if any of that is real at all. And why wouldn’t the complaining party come out openly to say it right?
I would really love to see any of these non-existent (anonymous) bloggers who claim that Nuffnang does not pay its bloggers come up with a real name and person registered in Nuffnang (with screenshots of their earnings) who has not been paid rather than just make empty allegations. It’s always a matter of I heard this I heard that but please show me an exact case like this about Nuffnang because I am yet to see a genuine one.
So please.. show me once that Nuffnang has not paid any of its bloggers once their payments have been due and according to our clearly stated payment terms & policies. Show me… and if we made a mistake, we will admit to it.
Don’t take it from me though, Google around and I’m sure you’ll easily find entries from bloggers who blogged about receiving our cheques and on the flip side find it hard to find entries about bloggers complaining that they have not been paid from us.
The closest thing I got to a genuine complaint which I could investigate was one from a blogger who wrote that he hadn’t been paid for a while only to find that he NEVER CASHED OUT his earnings or requested that a cheque be sent to him in the first place.
The team at Nuffnang is one with great integrity and that is something that I myself am proud of. So if there is anything that you think we have done wrong or missed out on, please do let us know and give us some form of substantial proof so that we know who this happened to and rectify that blogger’s problem.
Bal,
someone may not agree with you.
goldfries,
seems like you spend lots of time on those.
PonPiPi,
doing so.
supportnuffnang,
thanks for your input.
Luz,
well, no comment. I just want my money.
Wenhan,
ths for dropping by. don’t really understand what that neardeal is about. maybe you want to explain to people in more details. right now, i am not in the right state of mind to give any feedback.
Rob & Timothy,
thx for your input.
Make Money Blogging,
you are lucky.
Robb, your answer like cut and paste. You guys just trying to use this blog to hit advertlets just like what you been doing all along. Both are as bad.
Timothy SAID : I’ve even seen them reissue cheques because some of our Nuffnangers forget to change their address or some forget to put in their real name as in their IC hence the cheque sent wasn’t able to be banked in.
Supportnuffnag said : WAHHHHHHHHHH EVEN SEEN THEM REISSUE because blah blah blah. This is what you’re suppose to do anyway if the cheque bounced or there is something wrong with it. You majiam like what you know. Like erm….something very common one hor, you like think until like…very eh sai lidat leh… pengz.
There are instances of your payment problems too and it can be googled easily. Robb maybe hasn’t come in when you all were facing those problems but he should keep his mouth shut and not say something majiam like he can offer guarantee if not he chop….don’t tua kang….
if you don’t know how to google, let uncle teach you boy

http://mandrake.liquidblade.com/archives/2007/11/10/nuffnang-cheque/
Hi anonymous, I personally find it amusing when I try to be formal in explaining our company stand, people tend to mistake me for using a standard template. Is it that difficult to actually comprehend that one is merely trying to be formal rather than crude? At any rate, assumptions and judgments are rather disastrous in our realm isn’t it? Never have we once mention on our competitor at all and you’re already assuming things. Our intention was merely to bring light to the claims of some of the commentators that might have some misunderstanding over our company and that’s all.
At any rate, uncle supportnuffnang, I happen to be not too shabby in Googling and those links did came into my awareness. However, I beg for you to put some thoughts into them and check carefully. Both were dated in 2007. One of them (mandrake) is not even accessible at the moment which I’m not quite sure of its content while the other one was never enlisted in both Nuffnang MY or SG before. All mandrake’s cheques have been issued to him within the payment time frame while his latest one is still pending as it’s not due at the moment.
Allow me to have a few assumptions. The entry he (mandrake) wrote was on the 10th of November 2007. He had a cash out request within our database on the 8th. If he was complaining that he has not received the cheque after 3 days of clicking the cash out earnings link, then perhaps our dear mandrake friend has not been given nor seek much information on our payment policies with much of our regret.
As for rudesingaporeans, I believe if you’re to read the comments carefully, you’ll find the situation addressed. In addition, let’s just say that it’s human nature that most of the time, people tend not to talk about the good things you enjoy in life much but rather, complications and misunderstandings that you might have in life which I personally think is clearly the example here.
We have reissued cheques to our bloggers before for reasons such as lost in delivery, an error in their registration details such as wrong address, incomplete Full name and etc but never because it is bounced due to our account. I guess the whole world will really appreciate it and have peace if people are to assume less and instead, seek information from reliable sources.
Thus, once again uncle supportnuffnang, please show me your divine skills to give me (as I’m merely a boy) a proper registered Nuffnang blogger who claims he/she has not receive his/her rightful cheque and we did not address or ensure that he/she receives it at the end right away even before I came into Nuffnang. And of course, offering collaterals such as my genital will not be done as I happen to enjoy his companionship a lot.
Advertlets delay payment is not a new topic. I was a victim too.
However, I did not face any problem with Nuffnang payment. I am getting it every month.
haha, same here…
but once i post up a post on my blog, they call me!
But still need to wait years before getting it…
“Allow me to have a few assumptions. The entry he (mandrake) wrote was on the 10th of November 2007. He had a cash out request within our database on the 8th. Firstly, I want to draw attention to a simple fact that a company spokesman can NOT assume. It is not only unprofessional, it makes your company look stupid.
Secondly, it is not difficult to do basic research and fact check before you comment in a professional capacity.
Thirdly, it is not hard to understand from mandrake’s post that he did received the cheque albeit unsigned. Why is there a need to “assume” that he did not receive the cheque? To infer that he is a simpleton who does not know how to read simple t&c or policies is downright insulting.
Fourthly, your smug sarcasm in the remark “our dear mandrake friend” is uncalled for. The mandrake post was brought up as an example by one of the commenters here and in no way was involved in this debate. If you had taken the few seconds to read his post, he had ended with “Thank you. It has been resolved.” For no reason, you took an offensive stance towards your customer who, probably is still clueless.
I find this lack of professionalism and sincerity in handling PR matters, especially on the part of a company spokesman, extremely appalling and distasteful.
That aside, you owe Mandrake an apology.
Hi Robb,
First of all, like what Rachel had said, you should not assume on situations if you are speaking on behalf of your company. By assuming, you had made me look like an idiot. Someone who expect a cheque less than a day after cashing out.
Secondly, my post was posted on the 10th about me going to bank in the cheque on the 9th. So obviously I had cashed out weeks before the date of the post, unless I am so special as to receive a courier the next day from Nuffnang after cashing in.
All in all, as a spokeperson for your company, you shouldn’t assume about someone without checking up on it first. The cheque I was trying to bank in was from the previous cashout payment. If my post was not available, you could had emailed me to check with me. I am sure my email is in your system.
I think you owe me an apology for insinuating that I don’t know how to read the T&C and for your unwarranted sarcasm.
Dear Tim (and Ming if you’re reading as well),
You should know that this kind of behaviour should not be unpunished. Robb has been extremely unprofessional, and this leaves an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Should he just want to put a note across, he can put it in much better ways. The way that he is coming across (even if he is so-called provoked) is not the way that a representative of ANY company should behave, especially one that is making their money off bloggers.
You must not be paying much attention to your customers, even if there are a lot to not know what kind of blog Mandrake runs. You have his stats, don’t you, nuffnang, at least? What does his stats tell you? You have email exchanges, don’t you, nuffnang, at least? What does that tell you?
I’ve always liked nuffnang and the concept that it brought. A lot of my friends are nuffnang supporters. I have utmost respect for the nuffnang team, which is why I am very curious at the type of people you hire if Robb is the norm.
And exactly like what Rachel has said, just a piece of advice, never NEVER EVER state that you’re assuming if you are representing your company. It makes the company look extremely bad. Again, you have the email exchanges, you have the stats, you have the transactions on your end. If what you said was true, you wouldn’t have said “a few assumptions”, you would have said “our records show”.
Ming and Tim, is this what your company has become? Please tell me I’m wrong, because this is extremely and incredibly appalling.
rationalneurotic
Hi all,
thanks for you inputs.
Robb : You are representing Nuffnang but yet you have no skill nor the talent to handle the public when issues arised. I’m sorry but if I were your boss I would had removed you from your appointment long time ago. From memory, you went to several other blogs and inject sarcastic remarks every now and then WITHOUT knowing for a fact that you’re half representing nuffnang when you said something. If Ming and Timothy didn’t teach you how to behave yourself when facing public, it’s their fault, not yours.
To Nuffnang : You guys are far from perfect. You guys are just 20 somefink friggin year olds trying very hard to grow out of your childish mentality and emulate google of facebook. We know, we can tell but you are far from having the mentality. Don’t come and add oil into fire here unless you want to risk having someone digging out all your bad records.
Woot. Ladies and gentleman, if you really really want to know Nuffnang insideout, all you need to do is to read this article.

eh eh this is not nuffnang bashing here ok… come on, let’s all be fair.
It’s a fair game. If nuffnang wants to be arrogant, then it’s good to have some facts on the table and let the community sort it out.
Hi Robb, I hereby accept your apology and hope you don’t make the same mistakes again.
Ahahahahaha, it’s too bad. Tim Tiah from Nuffnang seems like a great guy, but this guy Robb is destroying Tim’s efforts by writing too much like Josh – aloof, arrogant and a pain the butt.
Hi all,
Again, thanks for your inputs.
No response yet from advertlets? So besides email/support tickets, they decided to even ignore blog posts!
Harry Lee, can you start a why-advetlets-will-fail blog?!
There is, but not before I email to ask, and the reply is far from satisfying.
Well, josh is famous with empty promises. He can say something nicely in front of others but turn into something ugly when talk to you face to face. Well, you want to get your money back? pray for it… My May cash out also no news…
Advertlets is going to pay high traffic blogs with fix amount because they are unable to pay according to the earnings. What a good business module? Then why they still serve ads to your site? Because your traffics/impressions are included in their total impressions. Which they are going to show to the advertisers.
Don’t care Tim is good or not. At least, cheque is paid on time. And, they are able to pay.
insider,
well…… speechless.
