Stop Whining, Ladies!
It was during after work period yesterday evening, I was taking train from Marina Bay towards the north. I couldn’t remember at which station, boarded this 3 passengers, 2 females 1 male. From their dress code, they should be those white collar class, after work on their way home.
It was rather crowded in the train, but not to the extreme. I was standing beside the man while the 2 girls were at the other side of him. Since they boarded the train, stood firm, the 2 girls started talking, and talking, and talking. Or I should say, complaining. There is no bonus this year, boss announced. Then they kept telling the man this is not justifiable because the company still brought it sales, it is not like no sales at all. Be more cautious with transport expenses, boss asked them. Then they kept telling the man how they have already been traveling via train and bus while staff from competitors are taking cab. Salary of so and so were taken as expenses of abc deparment. Then they kept telling the guy why it shouldn’t be like that, why and why and why.
Basically, throughout the journey, it was complaints, whining, complaints, whining, and breathing. Whine about company, whine about boss, whine about customers, whine about projects.
I can choose not to listen to them, you can say. But too bad I didn’t have my mp3 player with me at that time, and their voices were loud enough for people around them to listen CLEARLY, throughout the journey. I was forced to listen, basically.
I feel sorry for the guy, really sorry. I didn’t look at him but from his reply of only “Yes”, “No”, “Oh Yeah”, ect, I can clearly tell that he was not interested in the the conversation. But the girls didn’t get it. He is a nice guy, gentleman.
I can’t not understand, why people spend so much time complaining, whining. If you are not happy with the company, the boss’s decision, make it known to the boss. What for complaining at the back of boss? This is not going to help, and just making yourself feel even worse. Instead of whining, why don’t spend the time upgrading yourself, improving your skills, then jump ship to another better company? People are stuck in lousy companies for vasious reasons. The most common one is, they themselves are lousy. If you think you are good and deserve something better, move on then, go find your greener patch of grass.
