I thought, or I read that, it was arsenic case? Is SP AusNet scapegoat now?
MELBOURNE — Angry Australian victims of the wildfires have filed a class action lawsuit in the Victoria Supreme Court against a Singapore-owned electricity firm, SP AusNet.

According to a report in The Age yesterday, the survivors are alleging that a 2-kilometre-stretch of power lines snapped in strong winds, sparked and set fire to a nearby pine forest within minutes.

Over the next six hours, the blaze tore through the towns of Kinglake, Steels Creek and St Andrews, killing more than 100 people, leaving more than 1,000 families homeless and destroying nearly every building in the three towns. The legal wrangle is expected to involve hundreds of millions of dollars and drag on for years.

i really doubt that the angry Australian can make right judgment at this point of time.
and hopefully this is not some kind of accusation so therefore they can get $$ out from it.

Terok lah…I worried for our Singapore Government company leh..so small country, how to pay them? They all ang moh will ask for lots of money for compensation. No amount of money can recoup the tragic loss..Poor thing also..everything got burnt down. SHocking that our Singapore Power is involved…really jialat man. The CEO of multi national company next time better careful ah..better dont be too big heart to expand so fast…not worth lah..better look after our own citizen here locally. We have a greying population in Singapore…please look into building lots of nice retirement homes for the not so old retirees ..so that they can be independent..eg UK or Aussie style of individual unit retirement homes with kitchenette, lounge, bedroom, attached bath….with facilities for central playrooms, nursing station, provisions for transport for shopping and activities etc…Sorry I am getting out of context..When a person reach a certain age…the expenses will be highly subsidise my the government….We grieve for the poor homeless,human loss of live and limbs, the poor animals ..baaa baa white sheep became baa baaaaaaaaaaa black sheep. Whatever…we all better pray that the fire is not caused by a falling cable that sparks off..but then..it is an act of nature right ? God have mercy on the poor suffering people who lost their loved ones and those who have departed. May the fires be extinguish and let rainfall over Victoria. Amen
