Racist Obama Monkey Comic
Yeah, this comic, to me, is kind of teasing Barack Obama……
At first glance, the main editorial cartoon in today’s New York Post seemed like just another lurid reference to the story that the tabloid had been covering with breathless abandon for two days running – the shooting by Connecticut police on Monday of a pet chimpanzee that viciously attacked his owner’s friend.
But the caption cast the cartoon in a more sinister light. “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill,” it read, prompting accusations that the Post was peddling a longstanding racist slur by portraying president Barack Obama, who signed the bill into law yesterday, as an ape.

HAHAHA People these days, always trying to find things to use against anyone who speaks their mind or expresses their views. Obviously, The Post is not implying that the police in the cartoon shot Barack Obama, claiming he is a chimpanzee. They are simply implying the ridiculousness of the stimulus bill, as it could have been written by a monkey, which clearly is not as smart as a human. The problem is the American citizens who don’t see people as equals and immediately infer that The Post is being racist. All in all, someone who works for The Post should have suspected a possible outrage over the comic, and it should have been revised. Calm down sharpton.
I love Republicans. They are always able to (try and) talk themselves out of anything! The only thing is, that it never is believable. Oh, and he/she needs to review his/her grammar, please.

the comic is rasict in every way possible, if u kno ur history back in slavery days blacks were refered to as moneys. Slave onwers used to tell people out of the contry that at night we grew tails and truned to moneys.Now u r tell me do blacks trun to moneys at night.

while you wasted time agruing about what al sharpton thought of this… when was the last time he visited with the families of someone who died in the war on terror? if he cared about our people… he would care about them on not just the ones that got him press..

I completely agree with Republican. They are saying that they killed the monkey who wrote the stimulus bill. The only link to Obama being a monkey has nothing to do with him being black; it has to do with the fact that only a monkey would think the bill is a good idea. It is a clever comic because it uses resent events that passed connecting it to the stimulus bill.
The outrage over this makes it ever so apparent that this country isn’t past racism. I would have thought voting Obama in as president was a sign we were, but I guess not.
