Naked Knitting Calendar
Who are they?
To have fun.
To be creative.
To raise money for a great cause.We have been ‘extreme’ knitting for a few years, laughing as we tried to outdo each other with outrageous places to knit. A series of ‘naked’ knitting pictures was discussed many times. The thought grew to a calendar, when we were inspired by the fabulous WI ladies in their naked calendar.
So, here we are at the beginning of our foray.
What is that about?
If you ever thought that cancer is something that just happens to other people, think again.
I’m sorry to say this but, to a greater or lesser extent, cancer is something that will effect just about all of us living in the western hemisphere.
Christie Hospital in Manchester has cared for many people we know today and sadly some people we have lost in the past. They are constantly looking for better and more effective ways and methods of treating this disease.
What can we, that is our little group of friends, do to help?
Well, we aren’t doctors. But we can help in our own unique way.
Here’s what we’ve come up with.
Inspired by each others abilities to create with knitting and crochet and our sense of fun and adventure, we are producing a calendar for 2010 to raise funds. It’s a calendar with a fun twist. Naked Knitting!
It’s early days yet but we’ve a great start.
