Because of this condition called aquagenic urticaria, she can’t bath her son, she can’t comfort her son when he is crying. So sad.
A mother with a rare allergy to water which leaves her unable to cuddle her three-year-old son has revealed her ordeal to try to find a cure.
Michaela Dutton’s condition, aquagenic urticaria, is so bad she cannot drink water or go out in the rain without getting a burning rash.
‘I am a prisoner in my own body. I don’t see friends because they wrongly think it’s contagious,’ said the 21-year-old of Walsall near Birmingham, one of just 30 people to get the condition.
‘I can’t even hold Mitchell – if he sweats, I get covered in sore lumps.’
