Mas Selamat Caught But Not Sent Back To Singapore Yet, Why?
After 15 months of toilet break, Singapore’s most wanted hunk is finally arrested in Johor Baru, Malaysia.
KUALA LUMPUR: Thirteen months after his audacious escape from detention in Singapore, Mas Selamat Kastari has been caught in Malaysia.
Singapore’s most wanted terrorist was captured on April 1 while hiding in Johor, regional intelligence sources told The Straits Times.
It is believed that he was nabbed in the outskirts of Johor Baru and is now being held by the Malaysian authorities for interrogation.
It is not known how he slipped out of Singapore or when he entered Malaysia.
Although he was arrested six weeks ago, the Malaysian authorities have not yet announced the capture.
A senior Malaysian government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the arrest and said that Mas Selamat was being held under the country’s Internal Security Act.
He declined to say when the terrorist would be handed over to the Singapore authorities.
It is believed that the fugitive had stayed in Johor all this time and had not travelled further north. He is also believed to be detained in Johor.
Sources told The Straits Times that the 48-year-old was tracked down based on intelligence provided by Singapore’s Internal Security Department (ISD), and a joint operation by Malaysia and Singapore’s security agencies eventually led to his arrest.
The capture of Mas Selamat brings to an end one of the largest manhunts ever undertaken by Singapore and its neighbours for a terrorist on the run.

See the bold part? Arrested on 1st April (April Fool?), six weeks ago, but not handed over to Singapore yet. Why? Many may ask. Why? The only reason I can think of, maybe is ……………. kopi kopi kopi, where is the money to drink kopi? Remember the 1 million bucks rewards?

He’s being kept in Malaysia just in case the Singapore police lose him again on another toilet break. Face it boys, Mas is too hot for Singapore! Malaysian police are far more efficient!
Wow! All these suggest that both Singapore and Malaysia are still a haven to hidden terrorists. There must be some underground syndicates supporting terrorism all the time. They are real indeed! Better not trust anyone these days. We hope the government would prevent more foreign terorists from coming to our country under the pretext of finding job interviews of IRs or whatever. Have we heard of other countries where many foreign workers put up protests and riots against the government and destroying properties?
We hope our government is aware of that. We cannot judge the book by its cover. If Singapore meets such problems someday in future, it may affect our economy very badly. I personally hope our government is wary of such bad repercussion if she persists on employing more foreigners to compete with our own people and our own fresh graduates for employments every day, every week, every month and every year. Do not keep on saying our people are choosy for jobs that most of us are not choosy at all. You must hear from reliable feedback from unemployed people like us that we are often rejected by all job interviewers because we are above age 40.
Thanks all for input.
