Jill Jones – Britain’s Most Popular Bathtub Singer
She is actually the council officer of her town, Cumbria County.
Council chief turned songbird Jill Jones was mortified when the revealing clip was first put on video sharing website YouTube.
But the crinkly crooner’s video has since been viewed by more than 47,000 people around the world — and Jill says the experience has changed her life.
Known as Sunbeam to her fans Jill was first seen singing Willie Nelson’s song Crazy in a candle-lit tub after a dare from a friend.
And despite initial shyness the lifelong ‘closet-poet’ has since used her YouTube fame as an outlet to share her writing skills.
The Cumbria County Council officer, who is in her 30s, now regularly posts videos of herself singing to the backing tracks of her favourite songs.
Jill is assisted by her 13-year-old son who helps with the technical side of things.
Jill said: “I’ve been absolutely thrilled at the great reaction I’ve had.
“People have been really positive on YouTube and that’s inspired me to do more.
“Before I didn’t dare share my poetry except with a few really close friends and then someone dared me to do a karaoke on YouTube.
Her singing is ok……
