Kiwis Nude Rugby
What a sexy tradition……

WE all know the Kiwis are weird about their rugby, but especially weird is the traditional nude Test season opening celebration in Dunedin.
On the South Island, Dunedin is home to New Zealand’s most photographed building (the railway station), the most recognized building (Larnach Castle), and the steepest street in the world (Baldwin Street).
But it is also experiencing growing fame for the annual nude rugby game, which is held by students to celebrate the start of the Test rugby season.
Dunedin’s Carisbrook sports ground has been on the international rugby circuit for decades, but the first nude Test celebration was held in 2001, on one of the city’s beaches.
While the beach tradition continued for a few years, this year’s participants opted for the more traditional grass environment. In keeping with the entertainment, each year has also featured a fully clothed ‘streaker’ who interrupts play before being taken away by a naked ‘policeman’.
