Watch Total Solar Eclipse Online On 22nd July 2009
When I heard of this coming total solar eclipse, I was happy, excited because I am not working that day. That will be the 1st time I witness a solar eclipse. Some more it is in the morning (it starts as early as 840am), I figured that the field near my home where I always run pass when I jog will be a ideal place to watch. However, I am left disappointed when I find out that we only get to see no more than 10% of the total solar eclipse in Singapore. What a pity.
So, the next best thing I can do is to watch it online. I know there is live telecast on TV, but the kids will want to watch something else at that time, so I better watch it on my laptop.
What is this total solar eclipse about?
On Wednesday, 2009 July 22, a total eclipse of the Sun is visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses half of Earth. The path of the Moon’s umbral shadow begins in India and crosses through Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and China. After leaving mainland Asia, the path crosses Japan’s Ryukyu Islands and curves southeast through the Pacific Ocean where the maximum duration of totality reaches 6 min 39 s. A partial eclipse is seen within the much broader path of the Moon’s penumbral shadow, which includes most of eastern Asia, Indonesia, and the Pacific Ocean.

The Griffith Observatory is not going to show a live webcast!!
It was beautiful eclipse, just saw it on the website when it turn the would like a night time… I was missing out that time cause I was in BKK, Thailand and it was raining heavy this morning.
