Man Posed As Teen To Seduce Underage Girls Online

NEW ORLEANS — Federal prosecutors say a Metairie man is accused of posing as a teenager on social networking Web sites to lure underage girls from Louisiana and Mississippi into having sex with him.
Friday’s indictment also accuses 38-year-old Michael Meany of trading sexually explicit pictures with girls — including one in Maine — and downloading child pornography.
Charges against him include aggravated sexual abuse, coercion and enticement of a minor and producing materials involving the sexual exploitation of a minor. If convicted, he faces a mandatory prison term of at least 30 years, with a maximum of life.
Meany has been in state custody since late October for an alleged violation of probation on a conviction in Tennessee.
