Did SG Government Portal Site Receive Invoices from Vuestar?
Something I feel very wrong, ridiculous. How can such patent be approved in the 1st place? Did the relevant authority do any research before approving it? And did they foresee what impact it is going to be if it was approved?
I think almost 99% of websites in the world wide net are using image links to link to other sites, are Vuestar going to charge them all? I can see that many Singapore government portals site are using image link, will they receive any invoice from Vuestar? Or they have received their invoices?
I’ sure this is going to make it to major Tech blogs like TechCrunch, and ect because it is really looks like a joke. The relevant authority should come out and say something because this will certainly have serious impact on local webmasters and web owners and will certainly affect Singapore’s reputation on Intellectual Property area.

Here Comes the USD10 Cellphone, Without Contract
May 28, 2008 Around the Word, IT

USD10 for a cellphone. Well, this phone is really “strictly for calling purposes”. There is no screen, no other function other than the basic making and receiving calls. The company Hop-on tries to make it simple to lower down the price. At the same time, it is an environment-friendly phone. It is considered a “disposable” phone, but the company is offering USD5 rebate if one returns the phone to encourage recycling.
Check out the company HERE.

Google’s special Doodle for First Laser
You may see something different on Google homepage today. Yes, the Doodle is different, and is special. It looks something like this:

Upon clicking on the Doodle, we were led to a search page of “first laser“. So, 16th May is the day the 1st working laser was demostrated.
Taken from Wikipedia:
The first working laser was demonstrated on May 16, 1960 by Theodore Maiman at Hughes Research Laboratories.[2] Recently, lasers have become a multi-billion dollar industry. The most widespread use of lasers is in optical storage devices such as compact disc and DVD players, in which the laser (a few millimeters in size) scans the surface of the disc. Other common applications of lasers are bar code readers, laser printers and laser pointers.
