Are you desperately unhappy with your nipples? Feel that they’re the wrong shape, wrong colour, wrong size? It seems you may not be alone.

London’s Harley Medical Group has reported an astonishing 30 per cent rise in nipple surgery over the last 12 months.

Not only that, but a spokesperson for Bosomfriends.co.uk, a website dedicated to nipples prostheses announced they had recorded a “significant increase” in the sale of prosthetic nipples in the past year.

So what’s going on? Victoria Beckham’s recent pert appearance in a transparent black t-shirt ignited fresh speculation over whether her nipples are real or fake and it seems she might have launched a new trend.

‘Until now celebrities didn’t expose their nipples so they were no “nipple role models”,’ explains Dr Riccardo Frati, a cosmetic surgeon for the Harley Medical Group.

‘In the past I’ve had patients coming to my surgery clutching pictures of celebrities like Katie Price and saying: “I’d like breasts like hers” but now there’s a chance that Mrs Beckham’s designer nipples could be the next big thing for 2009′.

A Russian man has killed the girlfriend that he lived with for two years after finding out that she once was a man.

Vladimir F., 33, from Volgograd in Russia’s Volga Region, met Kamilla during a trip to St. Petersburg, Life.ru website writes. There, a charming young woman, three years his junior, caught his attention.

After they returned to Volgograd they started dating and soon moved in together. Kamila would not talk too much about her past life, but this never bothered her boyfriend.

Two years later, Vladimir proposed but was rejected. Kamilla said she was not ready for such a serious step and needed more time.

The suspicious boyfriend broke into her mailbox to see if she was cheating on him.

He found no traces of infidelity, but was shocked to find out that many of Kamilla’s correspondents addressed her as “Kirill”. The woman turned out to be a transsexual.

Browsing through Kamilla’s letters Vladimir learned how several years ago she traveled to Australia for transgender surgery and became a woman, then changed her papers to become one legally as well.

Unable to handle the revelation, Vladimir took a gun and when his girlfriend came home shot her dead.

After that he wrote a goodbye note saying he could not stand the “betrayal” of his loved one and cut his wrists open, but survived.

Vladimir has been charged with murder and is now awaiting trial at the local pre-trial detention center.

A financial company in Latvia is offering residents loans secured by nothing but their immortal soul.

Riga-based firm, named Kontora, does not require credit history record or proof of employment. It grants loans of 50 to 500 Latvian lats ($100 to $1,000) to any adult after he or she signs the a very short agreement.

According to the agreement, the only security required of the borrower is their immortal soul, which they are asked to confirm as their previously unmortgaged property.

The loan is subject to one percent per day in interest until full repayment.

The period of full repayment is 90 days, and in case the borrower fails to return the money, the creditor gets full possession of his soul.

Can the members sue the club for any damage? Can they claim insurance?

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of a fire that forced clients of a swingers club in Montreal to flee in various states of undress Friday morning.

The fire broke out at about 6:30 a.m. ET in the basement of Auberge 1082, located on Rosemont Boulevard near Christophe Colombe Avenue.

“They have the sauna in the basement and rooms on the second floor,” said Gilles Ducharme, the Montreal fire department’s chief of operations. “It’s an adult club. And we had 10 person[s] inside at that moment, three employees and seven customers.”

Five of those clients were trapped in rooms on the second floor. CBC reporter Melissa Kent spoke to some who tried to flee but found the exits blocked. Facing clouds of smoke and windows that wouldn’t open, patrons tried to make their escape by using a television to break the glass.

“He threw a TV four times at the window and the TV broke,” said one female client who didn’t want to be named. Another client said she heard the fire alarm but thought it was a drill and by the time they reacted, the hallways were filled with smoke.

In the end, firefighters were able to break through the window and help clients — some naked, others wearing only towels or robes — escape from the second floor on ladders.

“When they broke down the window, we could barely breathe. We came out, we were in a robe because, you know, it’s a swingers’ club,” said one client.

A neighbour in a nearby apartment, who also refused to be named, witnessed the evacuation from his window and said it was a sight to behold with people running out in towels, half naked in the street.

A girl with pretty face, and smart brain.

Her modelling career is going from strength to strength.

But it seems that Lily Cole is not just a pretty face, for the 21-year-old supermodel clearly has an IQ to match.

She has passed her first year at Cambridge University with flying colours after being awarded a first.

The red-headed Marks and Spencer star, who is studying History of Art, had her results pinned up on the noticeboard outside the university’s Senate House on Friday afternoon and was one of only three students who received the top grade.

It means that she scored an average of more than 70 per cent in her end of year exams.

If she repeats the feat in her final exams at the end of the third year, then she will be awarded a double first class degree.

The star will welcome the news after learning that she will not be having her contract with Marks and Spencer renewed as the retailer battles with the effects of the credit crunch.

A teenager hit by lightning escaped death as she was holding hands with her boyfriend.

Sophie Frost and Mason Billington, both 14, were sheltering under a tree on playing fields during storms when the bolt struck her iPod knocking them out.

But an expert in lightning injuries said the potentially fatal shock was reduced because it was shared out between them.

Sophie, now nicknamed Sparky by pals, said: “I don’t remember the incident, I just remember looking at my watch thinking I have to ring my mum and then being dragged into the road.”

Dr Mary Ann Cooper, of the University of Illinois, said the effect of the lightning had been diluted but added: “No one will ever know if one had 70% and the other 30% or both 50%. It is too complicated.”

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “They are very, very lucky indeed. It is fortunate their injuries were not more serious.”
