A North Carolina man is accused of arranging to have his wife raped through personal ads on the Web site Craigslist, police said Wednesday.

The 25-year-old man, of Kannapolis, North Carolina, was arrested in connection with the incident that occurred at his home early Sunday, police said in a statement.

Police responded to the home at about 2:45 a.m. after receiving a 911 call indicating a male armed with a knife appeared in the couple’s bedroom and sexually assaulted the man’s wife, authorities said.

The man was present at the time of the assault, and two young children were in the home, but were unharmed and unaware of the incident, the police statement said.

“During the investigation, investigators interviewed the victim and her husband,” the statement said. “Investigators became suspicious when they noticed there was no sign of forced entry to the home. Investigators also developed information that led them to note specific inconsistencies in the initial statement provided by [the man].”

But on Tuesday, police found that the man “had responded to at least two personal ads on Craigslist.com in an effort to arrange for someone to come to his home and have sex with his wife using some type of scare tactic.”

“Investigators believe [he] arranged this incident without the knowledge or consent of the victim,” the police statement said.

The Ilyushin plane once used as Erich Honecker’s official aircraft will now be outfitted with a whirlpool and sauna. A Dutch entrepreneur wants to turn the Soviet-built airplane into a luxury hotel — with the East German-era cockpit still intact.

The old plane used to carry former East German leader Erich Honecker through the Cold War-era skies on state visits. Now, though, it is set to become a luxury hotel in the Netherlands.

Dutch entrepreneur Ben Thijssen is transforming the four-engine propeller plane into five-star lodgings, including a whirlpool, sauna, bar, kitchen, flat-screen televisions, and wireless Internet. He has invested €450,000 ($635,000) in the process.

Eating curry containing turmeric once or twice a week could prevent Alzheimer’s disease and may researchers are investigating if it can be used as a treatment in those who already have it.

Professor Murali Doraiswamy, director of the Mental Fitness Laboratory at the Department of Psychiatry, Duke University Medical Center, Carolina, has told a conference that curcumin, from which turmeric is made, prevented the spread plaque found in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients.

Plaques build up in the brain and are thought to affect the electrical signals between brain cells producing dementia symptoms.

Prof Doraiswamy told delegates at the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Annual Meeting in Liverpool that brain plaques dissolved in mice given high doses of curcumin and in younger mice the spice appeared to prevent them forming in the first place.

Trials are currently under way that could lead to a curry pill, he said.

I came across some random magazine article featuring several women describing how orgasm feels like to them… and I was driven to search online for more such accounts. I have no idea why, but some people reckon its totally due to the fact that I lead a highly stressful life although I’m still so young. Phoenix police arrested a 20-year-old man Monday on suspicion of raping an unconscious woman live on the Internet.

Although the alleged sexual assault was broadcast Feb. 26 on a Web site for live streaming video and chat, Phoenix police have only recently gotten an incomplete recording of it.

Johnathon Richard Hock of Surprise turned himself in and is in jail without bail, booked on suspicion of kidnapping, sexual assault and surreptitious photographing.

The Tribune is withholding the 20-year-old alleged victim’s name and the name of the Web site. As of Tuesday afternoon, images of the woman could still be found on the site.

A visit to the Web site shows that Hock regularly posted there and he had a live show.

According to a search warrant affidavit, Hock and the woman were drinking at a gathering in a Phoenix home Feb. 25 when she decided to go to bed about midnight.

At 5 a.m. Feb. 26, Hock went into her bedroom and set up a laptop with a camera built in and signed onto the Web site and proceeded to rape her, according to the search warrant affidavit. The young woman slept through the 30-minute episode.

A viewer in Lafayette, La., called the Arizona Department of Public Safety to report the rape.

“She said while he was doing this he was laughing and making comments,” the affidavit states. “She said (Hock) made comments about how the victim would never know what was happening to her because she was ‘passed out.’”

The alleged victim’s roommate signed onto a second Web site that is associated with the livestream site and found still photos of her passed out and Hock lying beside her.

KOTA KINABALU: Chinese national Tong Ju’s (pic) dream of leaving his footprints in 193 countries was tragically cut short when he was knocked down by a vehicle in Kg Limbanak near here.

Tong became a hit-and-run victim late Saturday evening while doing what he enjoyed most – jogging.

The 52-year-old, who became the first man to jog three times around China in 1994 and covered all South-East Asian countries since 2007, was found dead by the roadside.

Tong had also said that it was his love for running and interest in geography that set him on a jogging mission to spread China’s 5,000-year-old culture and history to the world.

“I want to leave something to the world – my life, my dream, my spirit, my starting and ending point. Life is short, we should do what we want while we are alive,” Tong was quoted as saying.
