Singapore Tops World Safest Outsourcing Locations Ranking, While Kuala Lumpur……

According to The Black Book of Outsourcing 2009 which has just been published, Singapore tops the “Safest 25″ list, scoring slightly better than second place city, Dublin of Ireland. Click to enlarge.

World Safest locations for outsourcing

At the same time, the report also reveals the 25 world riskiest locations for outsourcing. Bogota of Columbia tops the world worst list, while Bangkok of Thailand comes close as second. By the way, Kuala Lumpur, capital city of Malaysia, is at 4th place in the world worst list. Click to enlarge.

World Safest locations for outsourcing

Out of the 25 world worst locations, 6 are cities from South East Asia. This is quite sad. Surprisingly, 8 cities from India are in the world worst list and none in the world safest list. Isn’t India one of the largest outsourcing industry countries?

A short report can be downloaded HERE. My screenshots were taken from this report.

Bernama of Malaysia had an article, 8 Indian Cities Among World’s Riskiest Offshoring Locations, which focuses on the Indian cities being in the world worst list. Ironically, it never mentions anything about Kuala Lumpur being 4th in the world worst list, a place worse than all of the Indian cities in the list.

History Students Are The Horniest

According to a survey done with students of Oxford University, only 15% of History students remains virgin and they are the most sexually active. Hmmm… what would historians talk about on bed?

One-night-stands, STD’s and clinches in college libraries: the full story of student sex at Oxford University has been laid bare this week.

Historians get the most action, only 15% of students are still to lose their virginity and you are much more likely to achieve a First Class degree if you are homosexual.

The revelations were among an array of dirty details exposed by a Cherwell survey of more than 850 students.

According to the responses, the most promiscuous colleges were Somerville and New, whilst in contrast, it was University College that had the greatest proportion of virgins.

Meanwhile it was those studying History that claimed to have the most sexual activity, with almost a quarter of respondents scoring between three and five times a week.

Closely in behind were Politics, Philosophy and Economics undergraduates and students of English Literature.

Interestingly, the survey also suggested a correlation between the amount of sex had by students and the final results they achieve in exams.

Tissue Left In Patient’s Heart Kills Him 14 Years Later

It is a sad case, but at least he survived 14 years.

Russian police are on search of the doctors who left a tissue in a patient’s heart, eventually causing his death of a heart stroke 14 years later.

The man, a resident of Krasnoyarsk Territory of Russia, had a weak heart. In 1995, he traveled to Moscow for heart surgery, which proved successful.

Fourteen years later, in January 2009, the man died of a stroke. A routine autopsy, however, revealed a strange object in his heart, Interfax reports Monday.

“During the operation, the surgeon left a surgical drape in the patient’s heart. Due to the presence of an alien object in the heart, the patient developed chronic fibrous pericarditis,” head of the Krasnoyarsk investigative department Anatoly Bagmet told Interfax.

“A year and a half later, he suffered a microinfarction, ten years later a stroke, and finally died in January 2009.”

Local police have launched an investigation of the accident. At the moment, they are looking for doctors who performed the surgery in 1995.

Manohara Odelia Pinot Was Sexually Abused By Kelatan Prince

Poor little girl, poor thing. By the way, she married the prince because she was raped by him when she was just 15 years old.

JAKARTA (AFP) – A teenage US-Indonesian model has returned to her family in Indonesia with tales of abuse, rape and torture at the hands of a Malaysian prince, after her dramatic escape with the help of Singapore police.

Manohara Odelia Pinot, 17, told reporters she was treated like a sex slave after her marriage to Tengku Temenggong Mohammad Fakhry, the prince of Malaysia’s Kelantan state, last year.

Her mother, Daisy Fajarina, said she would press charges against the 31-year-old prince, and blamed the Malaysian and Indonesian governments for trying to cover up the alleged abuse.

“The things I’ve been afraid of were revealed to be true. Manohara has suffered physical abuse. She’s got several razor cuts on her chest,” Fajarina told AFP on Monday.

“No parent could be silent if their child was treated in such a barbaric way.”

The Malaysian government had ignored her pleas for access to her daughter and had blocked her from entering the country, she said, while the Indonesian embassy had said that Manohara was fine with her new husband.

But the young woman — a well-known socialite in Jakarta — said her life at the royal palace involved a “daily routine” of rape, abuse, torture and occasional drug injections that made her vomit blood.

She said she was usually held under guard in her bedroom at the palace and was injected with tranquilisers whenever she complained.

“I am still traumatised by all that happened and it has left an impact on me,” she told reporters in Jakarta on Sunday, after escaping the royal family during a trip to Singapore over the weekend.

“Sexual abuse and sexual harassment were like a daily routine for me, and he did that every time I did not want to have sexual intercourse,” she was quoted as saying in The Jakarta Globe.

“I could never think a normal man could do such things,” she said, adding: “Some parts of my body were cut by a razor.”

The teenager whose fairy-tale wedding to a prince captured the imagination of Indonesia said she would be tortured if she did not appear to be happy when she attended social functions with Fakhry.

“Every time I went for events they forced me to smile and would torture me if I did not do what they said,” she told the press conference.

She said she secretly called Singaporean police and pleaded for help after the royal family took her to the city state when they accompanied Fakhry’s father, Sultan Ismail Petra Shah II, for medical treatment.

“The police told Fakhry that he would be held in jail if he did not let me go. No one could force me against my will in Singapore and I knew I had a chance to escape,” she said.

The model once voted as being among Indonesia’s “100 Precious Women” said she escaped her guards by pushing the Singapore hotel elevator’s emergency button.

They were reluctant to chase her because they knew the scene would be captured on security cameras.

She blasted the Indonesian embassy in Malaysia, saying: “They made it worse by telling lies, saying that I was fine while I was suffering in Kelantan.”

A spokesman for the Indonesian foreign ministry insisted the embassy had done everything it could to help Manohara and said the government would assist her if she wanted to file charges against her husband.

Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said the government would not investigate the claims.

“I think this is more of a personal matter. To date we have not been dragged into it, so we want to leave it as it is,” he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia’s royal rulers used to enjoy immunity from criminal and civil charges but the privilege was removed in 1993.

There has been no comment from the Kelantan royal family.

Manohara’s lawyer, Yuri Darmas, said she would have a medical examination to back up her allegations of abuse.

“We need one to two days to gather evidence before we file a lawsuit to the Malaysian police,” he said, adding that he intended to pursue both criminal and civil lawsuits against the prince.

Manohara has already filed for divorce, her mother said.

Blonde Parade To Lift Latvian Morale

What a creative way……

Latvians may be feeling depressed as a result of the economic crisis which has hammered the Baltic state, but over 500 blonde women did their best to lift spirits in Riga on Sunday with a parade and other “Blonde Weekend” events.

The global economic crisis has hit the Baltic state of Latvia particularly hard and left the population feeling blue. But one group of Latvian women has taken a novel approach to fighting the pervasive feeling of doom and gloom.

On Sunday, a procession of more than 500 blondes paraded through the capital Riga wearing pink and white. Many were escorted by lap dogs wearing the same cheerful hues. Their goal: to use their beauty to shine a little light into the dark mood caused by the global downturn.

Though it was far from being a protest march, some women used the opportunity to counter stereotypes. “I am beautiful, but I’m not dumb,” Ilone Zigure told the news agency AFP. The student added that she hopes that those of her countrymen who are depressed about the economic crisis will find her “positive energy” contagious.

Man Cuts Own Penis As Family Calls Off Wedding

Stupid!

CAIRO—A 25-year-old Egyptian man cut off his own penis to spite his family after he was refused permission to marry a girl from a lower class family, police reported Sunday.

After unsuccessfully petitioning his father for two years to marry the girl, the man heated up a knife and sliced off his reproductive organ, said a police official.

The young man came from a prominent family in the southern Egyptian province of Qena, one of Egypt’s poorest and most conservative areas that is also home to the famed ancient Egyptian ruins of Luxor.

The man was rushed to the hospital but doctors were unable to reattach the severed member, the official added citing the police report filed after the incident.

Sultan Of Brunei Conned By Indonesian Con Men

I think the sum is just peanuts to him.

The Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, was one of the victims defrauded recently by a ring of Indonesian con artists, National Police confirmed on Friday.

Comr. Gen. Susno Adi, who heads the National Police’s criminal investigation unit, said that a victim previously identified as a senior Brunei government official who had reportedly transferred Rp 20 billion ($1.9 million) to the con artists was the sultan.

“Yes, the victim is the boss,” he told journalists here. Asked explicitly whether he was referring to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Susno said, “Yes, it is him.”

However, the fraudsters, who have admitted to impersonating senior Indonesian officials, did not talk directly to the sultan, he said. “They only talked with the sultan’s adjutant, who was called from Jakarta.”

The police have said that two members of the ring are still on the run, but they have arrested 13 members — identified as Roni Hermawan, Mutiara Putri, Ida Mulyani, Rudi Chaerul, Sudirman, Nenden Sintawati, Reffi, Basri Atika, Andi Akbar, Vera Agustina, Siswanto, Bambang and Malik.

Susno’s deputy, Insp. Gen. Hadiatmoko, said separately that police obtained information that the ring members had contacted the sultan’s adjutant from the Bruneian police.

“We held a meeting with a senior police officer from the Bruneian Police headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday,” Hadiatmoko said. He declined to provide further details.

A police source close to the investigation identified the visiting officer as Superintendent Pg. Zaidi, who heads the Special Investigation Unit of the Special Investigation Department.

Some of the fraudsters had posed as presidential spokesman Andi Mallarangeng and the president himself in their telephone conversation, demanding that funds be transferred to accounts here. It was not immediately clear what the fund was demanded for.

Although it is legal to transfer funds into Indonesia, it is illegal for foreign governments or companies to make campaign contributions to Indonesian political parties or candidates.

The money, according to Hadiatmoko, has been recovered from the ring and was now held in a frozen bank account at a Bank Mandiri branch in Cempaka Putih, North Jakarta.

Police have also questioned two other alleged victims.

The Brunei Embassy here was closed Friday and its officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

Nun Ran Red Light Causing Fatal Accident Ruled Not Guilty

Which side of stories do you believe in?

Marie Marot does not speak English, but the nun’s broad grin did not require translation from her native French.

“See that? That’s a million-dollar smile,” Marot’s attorney, Don Brewer, said Tuesday afternoon outside a Kane County courtroom where a jury found Marot not guilty of running a red light moments before a fatal crash in an Elgin intersection in 2007.

Marot, 24, who belongs to the Fraternite Notre Dame order, was driving a van to her Chicago convent about 12:15 a.m. on Oct. 7, 2007, when she slammed into a Honda Civic carrying four teens at the intersection of Illinois Highway 72 and Randall Road. One of the Honda passengers, Keith Forbes, 16, of Carpentersville, died in the collision.

Authorities accused Marot of running a red light as she drove south on Randall. But the nun, who had been working prior to the crash at the Algonquin pastry shop operated by her order, has contended her signal was green, Brewer said.

Despite objections from prosecutors, Marot was allowed by Matekaitis to wear her habit during the trial. She did not testify and her attorneys did not call any witnesses, choosing to attack the credibility of the prosecution witnesses. In his closing argument, Brewer accused the driver of the Civic, Alexis Pena, 18, of East Dundee, of lying.

Pena testified Monday that she was certain she had the right of way as she drove west on Illinois 72 to drop off a friend. That friend, Jameson Sanchez, testified Tuesday that the signal was green.

But Brewer said the teens went through the red light and then later blamed Marot.

“She ran the red light,” Brewer said of Pena, who shook her head in disagreement as she sat in the courtroom with her mother.

Another motorist, Miguel Realzola of Crystal Lake, testified Tuesday that Marot’s van was ahead of him by about six car lengths as they approached the red light. The van did not slow down as it ran the light and plowed into the Civic, he said.

But Brewer attacked Realzola’s credibility, saying the witness had made a deal with prosecutors over pending traffic charges and a misdemeanor charge. Realzola and prosecutors denied there was any deal.

“I don’t think he can be believed,” Brewer said to the jury about Realzola.
