The guys over at Wikipedia is fast to act. Angel Matos’ introduction has already been edited:

Ángel Valodia Matos (born December 24, 1976) is a Cuban taekwondo athlete. He received a gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.[1] He received a gold medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics, he lost the Bronze medal, match in Repechage due to expiry of Kye-shi time (medical time out). After Matos incurred an injury in the fight, and subsequently took a Kye-Shi, the referee ruled that he had taken too long during his time out. After the winner was declared as Arman Chilmanov of Kazakhstan, Matos kicked Swedish referee Chakir Chelbat in the face, drawing blood from the referee’s mouth, and also pushed a judge and spat on the floor.[2][3][4]

A statement released by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) referred to the incident as a “strong violation of the spirit of taekwondo and the Olympic Games”, ordered all reports of his participation in these Olympics to be stricken from the records, and imposed a lifetime ban preventing him and his coach, Leudis Gonzalez, from participation in any future WTF events.[3]
