New York Time’s Article On Malaysian Political Bloggers

I came across this article, which was published about a week ago.

This May, though, he discovered the power of the Internet. Like many other inconvenient critics, he joined what seemed to be a political wave of the future, creating his own blog — www.chedet.com — where he vents in English and Malay several times a week.

The Internet has become the main battleground against censorship in Malaysia, where a system of self-censorship in an atmosphere of government pressure and intimidation has produced a constricted press.

Mr. Mahathir, 82, seems to be reveling now in challenging the system he once controlled, and he is as acerbic as he was during his days as prime minister.

Does Dawn Yang Found Plagiarize Contents Without Giving Credits?

First of all, if you are like me, whose English is not as good, “plagiarism” means

the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one’s own original work

This is the explanation found on Wikipedia.

I think many of you should have heard the pussy-fights between the 2 famous (infamous) female Singaporean bloggers, Xiaxue and Dawn Yang already. I didn’t follow the story, but I thought it was quite sometimes ago. It only became HOT again because one of the national newspaper (couldn’t find something more worthwhile to report) made a full page (or is it half page? never read) coverage on it. And it became national level.

So, when I was browsing through EDMW (there are lots of DY haters and XX haters over there), I saw THIS thread. Then I was directed to the following site:
http://xxvsdy.blogspot.com/

The name of the blog is funny, XXvsDY. Does it mean “Xiaxue vs Dawn Yang”? Anyway, doesn’t matter. The author reported that, based on researches from users of Cozycot, many of the reviews on movies in DY’s star blog are plagiarized from other places. There are lots of screenshots over there to as proofs. There are really A LOTS. Take a look at these few posts:
In Her Own Words???
More Shocking Revelation!!
More Plagiarized Text on Her Star Blog…….
There are many many more………

I tried visiting the links as suggested by the author, but one needs registration to do so. I am just too lazy……

But, maybe people are just “localizing” ideas for her blog, contents, right? Kekekeke

So, what do you think?
