Dr M Said, Malaysia Will Be Left Will Brainless Fellows One Day
Nov 15, 2008 Funny News, Malaysia, Stupid Stuffs
This is a report I read on Malaysia Chinese Newspaper, Sinchew Daily. Dr M was giving a speech in KL International Trade Forum. He said that the talented all left Malaysia, and the government, instead of bringing in talented foreigners in specific area (like Singapore’s Foreign Talent?), brings in tonnes of lowly skilled workers. If this situation carries on, Malaysia will be left with “brainless” people, because all those people with “brain’ all leave the country (or die, or kena ISA).
Source, sorry this is in Chinese. I couldn’t find any English version in local press. Anyone who came across the English version, do let me know K?
Hello Dr M, did you remember that, you were the PM for 22 years, until 2003. Did you notice that, tonnes of talented Malaysians left the country since the days when you were in charge?
And I have to disagree that Malaysia will be left with “brainless” people. You need brain to makan rasuah, to take under table money. So, no, there will still be people with “brain” in Malaysia.

New York Time’s Article On Malaysian Political Bloggers
Nov 15, 2008 Blogosphere, Malaysia
I came across this article, which was published about a week ago.
This May, though, he discovered the power of the Internet. Like many other inconvenient critics, he joined what seemed to be a political wave of the future, creating his own blog — www.chedet.com — where he vents in English and Malay several times a week.
The Internet has become the main battleground against censorship in Malaysia, where a system of self-censorship in an atmosphere of government pressure and intimidation has produced a constricted press.
Mr. Mahathir, 82, seems to be reveling now in challenging the system he once controlled, and he is as acerbic as he was during his days as prime minister.

Dr M on Multiracial Society
Jun 4, 2008 Around the Word, Life
Dr M’s sharing his idea of multiracial Malaysia and why the existence of New Economic Policy. Somehow or rather, I feel that it is kind of contradicting to what he has done during his time as PM of Malaysia. Anyway, it is still a good read. Bahasa Melayu edition is after the English one.

Dr Mahathir Quits UMNO
May 20, 2008 Around the Word, Gossips
There has been no peace within Barisan National since Malaysia General Election 2008, the Malaysia’s version of political tsunami. Yesterday, Dr Mahathir had thrown in another bomb to the governing party by announcing quit in his blog, chedet.com. He said that this is to fight current PM Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Dr Mahathir will only rejoin UMNO if Pak Lah steps down.
I can only say that, Malaysia political scene has never been so exciting……

Mr LKY will agree on what Dr M said in his blog
Although Mr LKY and Dr M were rival when they were PM of Singapore and Malaysia respectively and they hardly agreed on anything with each other, I think this time Mr LKY will agree on what Dr M said in his blog article, A Weak Government is not good for Multi-racial Malaysia. To certain extent, I agree with Dr M as well.
Politically, the opposition is the enemy. Being forced to work with the opposition is not undemocratic but it shows up the weakness of the Government.
A weak government is not good for multi-racial Malaysia. It leads to unwarranted challenges against its authority. Governments cannot please everybody. If a Government cannot be firm and is forced to flip-flop there will be a lack of confidence which does not augur well for the smooth implementation of policies or project. Some people might already have noticed this.
A Government with little need for opposition support would be better able to disregard the sniping that all Governments must face. It should however take note of opposition views and respond where necessary.
