An Elevator To The Space

Japanese scientists are looking into technology to build an “space elevator”, or a lift that can bring you straight to the space.
The lift’s carriages, which will themselves require new feats of engineering, would move up and down 22,000 mile-long cables.
Those cables would need to be stronger and lighter than any material ever woven.
They would be anchored to the ground and disappear into the sky, eventually reaching a satellite docking station orbiting above the Earth.
Would you dare to take the lift? I bet the passenger would be frightened their pee out if the lift broke down half way……

Started playing badminton at the age of six in a well-known club. In 1998 won the All Japan Junior High School Badminton Championship (singles). In 2000, won the All Japan Junior Championship. Since 2002, plays as a pair with Ogura. Reads the flow of each game calmly, directing the shuttle wherever she wants it to go. Nickname “Rei”/”Rei-chan.”
