Freedom Of The Press 2008: Singapore ranked 153rd, Malaysia ranked 141
Apr 30, 2008 Around the Word
Latest press release from Freedom House stated that Finland and Iceland are the combined number 1 in press freedom all over the world. In Asia, Taiwan scores best at 32nd place, while Hong Kong and Korea are combined 67th place. Malaysia is ranked combined 141 while Singapore is ranked combined 153. i feel ashamed when I saw that the countries like Andora (8), St Lucia (16) or Palau (12) which are not as advanced as Malaysia and Singapore are ranked much much higher in press freedom!

China actress fell to death after foursome (4P) session?
Apr 14, 2008 Around the Word, Gossips
This is on the frontpage of local Chinese Tabloid Shin Min Daily.

The girl is Tan Jing (谭静). She was once signed by Hong Kong ATV (not sure if it is for their Hong Kong or China Mainland TV production). Later on, Tan Jing made her in Korea after taking part in a Korea TV commercial. Then she signed with a Korea agency as model.
She was said to be a sex service provider, but some online articles refuted the claim. The incident happened on 5th April. She is believed to be raped and murdered by three male crew members from a certain Korean airlines. The 3 guys had since left China, flew back to Seol, and then to Mexico after that.

Yi So-Yeon, the first Korean astronaut, female
Apr 9, 2008 Around the Word
I always have the impression on Korea that it is a very very MCP country. Men there are everything and women must always listen to men. For example, very often I need to liaise with overseas colleagues. For colleagues in Korea, very often, tasks passed down will be pushed to the females to do it, even though the females may be in more senior position. So, when I saw the news that the 1st Korean astronaut is actually a female, I was rather surprised. Bravo to you, Yi So-Yeon!
