A Website About Klang Bak Kut Teh
There is a Klang Bak Kut Teh Carnival 2008 currently being held in Klang. The organizer has launched a website about Klang Bak Kut Teh, http://www.klangbakuteh.com. It is a pity that the site is only in Mandarin. I think it is due to the fact the organizer is some Chinese community organizations in Klang. I tried leaving a comment there to suggest a English version for all the English-speaking Bak Kut Teh lovers, but too bad that the comment page is not ready yet. Maybe, it is not fully completed yet.
The contents is rather interesting. It touches on various topic regarding Bak Kut Teh, such as the origins, the recipe, ect. For Bak Kut Teh lovers, you may want to try out the various Bak Kut Teh restaurants/shops that are introduced there. The site also talk about the various “mutant” of Bak Kut Teh, and introduces the various Chinese herds used in details.
A rather informative site.

PENANG: No wireless project if it’s proven bad for health
By Audrey Dermawan2008/10/05
Penang will not continue with the free Wireless@Penang broadband project if there is scientific proof to show that the health of the people will be adversely affected Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the state government was prepared to widen its consultations to include holding public forums with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and members of the public who were uneasy about the health risks posed by the use of free wireless connections to the Internet.
“Public consultation is a continuing process even after a project is announced.
“We believe in accountability. We are open to cancelling the free wireless project, which is aimed at providing free WiFi connection to the entire state within 24 months, if NGOs or any party can show incontrovertible evidence that there are harmful health risks,” he said in a statement today.
YB Lim, I thought you guys like and admire the style of Singapore government’s administration very much? Don’t you ever hear of Wireless@SG? People here have been enjoying free wireless connection for over 1 year already! Just book an air ticket and fly here to consult the experts here, hold forum for what? By the way, remember to book economy class.
Sibeh talk cock, if there is any health risk, you think the nation famous of kiasu and kiasi will allow?
Sorry to any fans of Mr Lim. Seriously, the more I saw him talk, in charge of Penang, the more I feel that he is becoming NATO, No Action Talk Only.

Couple Beaten To Death After “Alternative Treatment”
Oct 3, 2008 Malaysia, Stupid Stuffs
Once again, I would like to say that, there is no cure for stupidity.
A couple who went to a relative’s house for Hari Raya and agreed to an “alternative treatment” to rid them of their problems, ended up dead after being battered with helmets and broomsticks during the cleansing ritual.
Both families were believed to have recently joined a cult.
The victim was said to have been impressed by a nephew’s claim that he (the nephew) was told in a dream that he had the power to rid people of their illness and problems.
It was believed both families agreed to participate in the “ritual” treatment that involved the beating of each other with helmets and broomsticks.
