Mouse Drops From Ceiling Onto Table At Food Republic, VivoCity
Oct 31, 2008 Singapore, Stupid Stuffs
Disgusting! It seems like there are lots of mouse in Singapore. Previously we saw mouse drop from ceiling at McDonald outlet. Then today same thing happened at Food Republic at VivoCity.
A mouse was seen to have fallen from the ceiling of Food Republic at Vivocity on Oct 29 and diners who encountered the rodent were given a full refund of their dinner.
Several diners spotted the rodent at the Food Republic foodcourt, and Shan, Eric and Keith were amongst those who saw it.
BreadTalk, which runs the food court, has since sent a pest control company to contain the rodent situation.
Recounted the contributors:
“A rodent dropped from the ceiling of Food Republic @ Vivocity on 29 Oct 2008 at about 7.55pm.
“It landed on a table occupied by 8 patrons, right next to a hotpot.
“The rat appeared to be dead initially, so some of the affected patrons started taking pictures of it to “gather evidence” while others looked for Food Republic staff for assistance.
“But the rodent started moving shortly afterwards. It hid under a stack of trays first, and then ran off before anyone could catch it. ”
STOMP has contacted BreadTalk for comment and a spokesman said:
“On the 29th of October, after we were notified of the incident, the customers affected (8 of them) were compensated with a full refund of their dinner. We contacted them immediately to apologize for the unpleasant experience.
“We take this issue very seriously and want to public to know that we are doing everything we possibly can to ensure that such incidents have a lesser chance of reoccurrence.
“We currently conduct daily sanitation and bi-weekly atrium pest control treatment; these measures will be stepped up.
“The pest control company was called in on the same night, where the field biologists accessed the situation and lay traps.
“Tonight they will do an inspection on the ceiling boards and treat the entire food atrium to ensure and track down any rodent infestation.
“The building management has been notified on the incident, while we are unable to pinpoint exactly the cause of this; we have found out that it is a type of rodent found commonly in gardens.
“Where Vivocity Food republic is located, the area is open and it could have come from anywhere.
“An official apology letter to express our sincere apologies has been sent to our customers.”
The mouse just love Singapore isn’t it?

Insider Story Of “Sun Tan”?
Sep 27, 2008 Fun, Gossips, Scandals, Singapore, Stupid Stuffs
I am surprised, very very surprised. I never expect my “Sun Tan” post will bring me so much traffics. Jialat dotCom got more than 4100 visitors on 25th (the afternoon that I posted the “Sun Tan” entry), and more than 5100 visitors on 26th. The last time Jialat dotCom got more than 4000 visitors a day was when the “Sex In McDonald Uniform Saga” published by that local English tabloid (I didn’t include the Edison Chen period, that was MAD!), which is exactly 5 months back. After some further checking, I found many of the visitors came from Sammyboy Forum, because someone saw my “Sun Tan” entry and posted over there. Also,, someone posted a link in SG Forum, so there were quite a fair bit of visitors from there as well.
I went to take a look at the thread in Sammyboy Forum, and I found some juicy “insider story”! In that thread, someone replied the thread starter saying that he was the readers of Sun Tan’s sex blog with her boyfriend, but after while, the couple started collecting fees. Means that, readers had to pay subscription fees to them.
After reply, another forummer replied with the following:
ok let me get this straight, girl post her own sex pics and videos on her blog for the whole wide world to see, then decided that since so many ppl are viewing, hey why not monetize! then realised others can view her pics and videos from another source without paying a cent, girl got mad and made police report and threaten to sue(hoping to claim lost of income?) just because she lost the source to monetize? gimme a break. she’s fugly btw, back view make me steam, see her face only, CMI!
Hmmmm, this sounds interesting right? Anyway, I am not sure how true it is, but sounds rather logical on the “lodging police report” part. However, it still doesn’t explain, who is the first one, the Hotel69, sending all the videos, photos to our source blog and what’s his purpose? But anyway, sure this is interesting enough.

Rats Dropped From Ceiling At Tampines Central McDonald!
Sep 9, 2008 Singapore, Stupid Stuffs
I almost vomited when I saw this on STOMP. I know STOMP is lame but not for this one. STOMPer Nightwind emailed STOMP, telling the whole incident happened on 6th Sept in McDonald at Tampines Central, the one between Tampines Bus Interchange and CPF building. I shall just copy the whole article and paste it here. It is rather long though.
On September 8, STOMP received an e-mail from STOMPer Nightwind about his encounter that involved rats falling from the ceiling of a Tampines branch of McDonald’s.
In the original e-mail, Nightwind says:
“At about 9.30pm today, September 6 2008, I was at the 24-hour Mcdonald’s outlet located at Tampines Central 1 Blk 513, between Tampines Bus Interchange and CPF building, when rats started falling from the holes in the false ceiling.
“Initially it was just a group of about five or six teenage girls who started exclaiming and screaming in the direction of my table.
“My friends and I thought that maybe a cat wandered into the restaurant and we started looking around.
“The intermittent screaming also attracted the stares of surrounding patrons.
“My friends started noticing small black objects falling from the ceiling.
“It’s then that two rats fell from the ceiling behind me and landed on the floor inches away from me. More screaming.
“Everyone then quickly cleared the area under the false ceiling.
“The teenage girls — still screaming — quickly left the restaurant.
“More than half a dozen baby rats fell from the ceiling and were scurrying everywhere.
“The McDonald’s staff scrambled to chase after the rats.
“They were also trying to assure everyone that there were no more rats in the ceiling.
“The manager and staff quickly caught several of the baby rats, and took them outside the restaurant, presumably to throw them onto the grass patches.
“They continued to assure everyone that there were no more rats, and that’s when another baby rat poked out from one of the ceiling holes.
“I took a picture with my phone at this time, though the rat cannot be clearly seen.
“The manager climbed onto a chair and tried to hit the baby rat to dislodge it, and the rat fell onto the floor stunned.
“He then picked up the rat and ran outside. The rest of the staff quickly caught the rest of the rats and removed them from the premises.
“Failing to convince anyone that there are no more rats in the ceiling, the staff then put up notices not to occupy those seats, and started taping black plastic bags to the ceiling holes.
“Many patrons were puzzled regarding the ‘reserved seats’ and the covered holes in the ceiling.
“McDonald’s did not provide any explanation, try to talk to any of the patrons, or make any further effort to prevent anyone from occupying the seats beneath the false ceiling.
“They basically tried to pretend that nothing ever happened.
“By the time I left, about 1 hour 30 minutes after the ‘rat fallout’, several of the taped up black bags were already starting to fall off.
“I think that McDonald’s is rather irresponsible in that they had no guarantee that no rats were going to be falling from their ceiling again, letting people sit beneath the ceiling holes.
“I’ve had some experience with dealing with rats from my army days, and seeing that all the rats that fell are baby rats, there’s probably a whole infestation of rats in the ceiling.
“So I am very sure there are more rats in there.
“Following the incident, I have made a call to NEA and The New Paper.
“As I patronise this outlet frequently, I hope they can clean up soon.
“I shudder to think of rats falling on my head next time.”
STOMP has since contacted McDonald’s regarding the issue and in a response dated September 9, Linda Ming, a Senior Communications Manager for the company, says:
“We refer to your query dated 8 September 2008, prompted by a customer email on rodents falling from the ceiling.
“At McDonald’s, we are committed to providing our customers with an enjoyable dining experience in a clean and safe environment.
“Cleanliness is one of the basic fundamentals that we never compromise on in this business.
“Apart from rigorous daily cleaning and regular maintenance and checks, we also work very closely with the relevant agencies and community to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in our restaurants and trading area.
“We have investigated the incident with representatives from the Tampines Town Council and the National Environment Agency (NEA). As the ceiling area is not exclusive to McDonald’s, the Town Council will be working closely with NEA to trace and eliminate the source of the problem.
“Additionally, to ensure the incident will not recur in our restaurant, we are taking immediate steps to seal up access to the ceiling above the restaurant.
“The situation is the first and an isolated one.
“Please be assured that we will continue to co-operate with the Town Council and NEA to monitor the situation very closely”.

This is really holy shit! After the staffs-in-uniform-sex-tape incident, here comes another stunt! Rats dropped from ceiling? Not 1 but a few! Oh my God, I wonder what’s going on in MacDonald. I frequented that branch a few times since I’m staying Tampines. It look normal, and rather clean. Tsk tsk tsk, I have to think twice when time when I want to have my meal in any of the MacDonald branch.

McDonald in Sichuan, Nanchong Damaged for Not Making Donations to Earthquake Victims
May 21, 2008 Around the Word, Gossips
People in Nanchong (南充), in Sichuan China, gathered outside a local McDonald outlet. McDonald was accused of not making donations to Sichuan earthquake victims. They called the international fastfood chain “stingy”. Local police and undercovers were called and quick to response to dismiss the public.

“McDonald get lost from Nanchong”

“International Stingy List: Coca-Cola, KFC, McDonald, Nokia, LV, Daikin, P&G”

Forcing donations? Is this really the country hosting Summer Olympic 2008?

Sex-in-uniform video on TNP, will police contact Jialat dot Com for assistance?
Apr 24, 2008 Blogosphere, Gossips, Singapore
I am referring to my post on 26th March, titled “What action will McDonald take against Sex-In-McDonald-Uniform staff?“. This piece of “news” has gone onto our local tabloid, TNP (dated 24 April, page 9), and the Chinese portal OMY.sg. No wonder when I checked my site statistics just now, I saw a surge of incoming traffics from search for “mcdonald sex”, “uniform sex”, ect.
In both TNP and OMY.sg reports, McDonald said they have lodged a police report. So I wonder, will police contact Jialat dot Com? Fortunately, I did not upload or distribute the clip or link, keke. Hope this won’t get myself into trouble though.
Anyway, I think the photo on OMY.sg was taken from my post. They just look exactly the same. But too bad I can’t prove it because I did not make any watermark or copyright claim on the original photo. As for the photo on TNP, I seriously think that they have PS-ed the screencap. From that angle, The McDelivery logo is darn freaking obvious, but they was none on the TNP photo.
By the way, you see, my post was dated 26th March. These local tabloids only published it today, 24th April. They are seriously WOLS… Please wake up! Be a responsible tabloid, act fast!
For guys who asked for links, too bad, too late if all the links in those forums are not valid now. This is the consequences of following the “mainstream” media, maybe?

The logo is missing…… check out my post, the logo is so obvious.

Apr 4, 2008 Gossips, Life, Makan, Singapore
Recently, I really feel the heat of rice increased, seriously.
Public transport fees are raised almost every year, but bit by it. So I can still tahan. But for the past 2, 3 months, I feel like, the fire is burning in front of my face.
