This is based on a report conducted by Merrill Lynch and Capgemini jointly. It is called World Wealth Report.
In the report, Singapore is number 7 in the HNWI Population Growth, 2006 – 2007 (by Market). HNWI means high net worth individuals. Those taken into accounts in this report are those who own at 1 million US dollars of wealth. The property that the person live in is not taken into consideration.
77000 out of 4.5 millions of population. It mean, there is 1 millionaire among every 60 persons in Singapore. So, there are how many around you?

Singapore Ousting HK as Top Millionaire Hub By 2017
May 7, 2008 Life, Money, Singapore
It is from a report released by Barclay Wealth, available in ST (S’pore to have highest concentration of millionaires by 2017 - for registered users only) and Business Times (S’pore ousting HK as top millionaire hub - for registered users only). It is saying that:
Last year, Singapore trailed Hong Kong in highest wealth density, with 23.3 per cent of residents having wealth of more than US$1 million. But by 2017, Singapore is expected to see this figure grow to 40.7 per cent - some 436,000 households - in comparison to Hong Kong’s predicted 39.4 per cent.
40.7%, which means there are 2 millionaires households in every 5! That is a lot!
Will you be the 2 millionaires out of 5? Or the remaining 3?
For myself, maybe I am not even in Singapore anymore by then.
